In addition to the recording facilities, the live room, and the Charlottesville Rock Academy, The Sound is home to a complete live production company – The Live Sound.
Our systems can take care of all your production needs from small intimate acoustic and jazz performances to huge outdoor events for thousands and anything in between. Our live engineers have decades of experience and have worked for some of the world’s most recognizable entertainers. The Live Sound also has the capability of multi-track Hi-Def recording any live sound events, with various post options, providing fantastic results through our recording facilities.

Equipment: The Large PA system is based around a 32 channel Soundcraft Console, 6 EAW FR153, 6 single 18” Subs and tons of Crest power. Featuring up to eight monitor mixes with Yamaha and JBL wedges, this system is loud, clean, and strong.

The Small PA is comprised of an Allen and Heath Console with powered Mackie and JBL speakers. This is a great sounding system that can be set up quickly and will easily provide for up to 300 people. Similarly, we offer two levels of light production, with a large truss based stage rig, and a smaller stand based par can array.
